Hello parents and students,
Today
we learned how to classify organisms according to their role in the food chain.
Organisms were classified into three groups, producers, consumers, or
decomposers. We learned that all producers make their own food. They rely on
energy from the sun to help them grow. Consumers are organisms that cannot make
their own food like plants do, so they eat other organisms instead. Decomposers
convert dead matter into gasses that are released back into the air, soil, and
water. All organisms rely on one another in order to survive. Together they
sustain life on earth.
How much to do know about producers, consumers,
and decomposers? Test your knowledge and see how you do on this next organism challenge.
Was that a piece of cake? Try this next food chain challenge; it will have you hooked the moment you look.
